United Scientific® Celestial Star Globe – 3D Astronomy Teaching Model with Constellations, Earth & Milky Way Visualization
Bring the wonders of the night sky into the classroom with the United Scientific® Celestial Star Globe. This three-dimensional astronomy teaching model is designed to demonstrate the apparent positions of stars, constellations, and the Milky Way as seen from Earth. Perfect for hands-on learning, the Celestial Globe allows students to explore how the visibility of stars changes based on Earth’s rotation and location.
The globe is constructed with two concentric spheres mounted on a common axle for smooth rotation. The inner sphere (4” diameter) represents Earth, complete with accurately marked continents. The outer transparent sphere (12.5” diameter) displays constellations, individual stars, and a shaded Milky Way band to illustrate our galaxy. Both spheres rotate independently, helping learners visualize astronomical movements and angular relationships in real time.
A precision angle scale is integrated into the sturdy frame and base, marked at every degree up to 87° in both directions. The globe’s 23.5° tilt accurately replicates Earth’s axial inclination, making this an invaluable tool for teaching astronomy, Earth science, and celestial mechanics in classrooms, laboratories, and educational demonstrations.
